This picturesque hotel is situated on the banks of the Nive River, in the heart of the French Basque country. It is the home of master chef Pascal and his attentive and efficient wife (the manageress) Christine Arcé.
The surroundings could hardly be more idyllic, with the sound of the river flowing when you have fresh baked croissants, home made jams and jellies, and steaming roasted coffee for breakfast.
The village is a few minutes’ walk across the ancient bridge crossing the river, and hikes in these foothills of the Pyrenees are phenomenal. The popular starting point for the St James’ Way pilgrimage route, St Jean Pied-de-Port is only a few kilometers from here, and is one of the places nearby to spend an afternoon.
